For Ancient Greek

The Language Teaching Manual of the Lyceum of the Lyceum aims to serve the teaching of a specific subject from the Grammar and the Syntax of the Ancient Greek Language, which is necessary for the completion and consolidation of what the students were taught in the Gymnasium. It is taught in parallel with the books of Syntax and Grammar used by the students. It therefore does not repeat the same rules, morphological formations or tables of inflection of nouns and verbs, except when deemed necessary for their immediate use. Each teaching unit of the Language Teaching Manual is structured to serve as an inductive teaching process. Starting with specific authentic material of ancient Greek, basic elements of ancient Greek grammar and syntax are pointed out, followed by appropriate exercises for the application of what has been learned.

Teaching objectives:
a) The completion and expansion of the knowledge of ancient Greek that the students acquired in the High School.
b) The practice of students in transforming sentences into others with similar or different syntax.
c) The practice of students in transferring sentences from ancient to modern Greek and vice versa.
