Anthology of Philosophical Texts of C High School

Translated philosophical texts of the ancient Greek literature, poetic or short, have been anthologized in this book. Through these texts, we follow the philosophical reflection of antiquity, as developed in the Eastern Mediterranean basin from the 6th c. e.g. until the 6th c. AD, and the evolution of ancient Greek philosophy.

The purpose of the book is twofold: on the one hand to follow the evolution of philosophical thought through the anthological texts and on the other hand to show some important problems of philosophy in relation to the social, political and historical context of the time in which they were discussed. At the same time, the book is an illustrated history of philosophy, as it includes authentic or imaginary portraits of philosophers and illustrations by artists of all times, related to the topics discussed.
