More exposed to the currents of the Aegean than to those that swept popular culture, Skyros is like an ark. In fact, in addition to embroidery, wood carving, ceramics, metallurgy and the special configuration and decoration of the residence, Skyros also preserved a rare breed of small horses that graze on the deserted mountain slopes. The island is divided into two sections: the rugged and uninhabited Vounos in the south and the mild and forested Meroi in the north. There are paths in both parts: those of Meroi cross wooded or cultivated areas and lead to chapels or beautiful beaches, while those of Vounos run through wild landscapes with nice views. The new version of the map shows 6 hiking routes for which Anavasi prepared the signaling study and signs are already being placed.
