The purpose of this book is not to make you wise, i.e. to give you the knowledge of the world. Its purpose is to help you think and discuss with the "other" person, with your other classmates and with your teachers, issues, problems social, scientific, artistic, philosophical,
political, cultural, issues of everyday life, issues of knowledge, thought, speech, art: not to become omniscient with knowledge, philosopher with
the thought, the writer with the word, the artist with the art; not for that, but to seek the truth and to be complete, that is, to become a free man.
Because knowledge, reason, thought, art, truth lead to fulfillment and freedom. That is, they lead to responsibility and creation. Freedom and responsibility are the two poles of creation; they are the preeminent
traits of man.
