Pelion is one of the most beautiful regions of Greece and a famous tourist destination for all seasons. Hiking trails and cobbled cobblestones lead to springs, caves and beaches in a landscape of lush vegetation. The mountain slopes are covered with magnificent beech forests and apple and chestnut orchards at medium altitudes.
The remnants of the old network of paths are still so numerous that one can walk for months and constantly discover new routes. The most detailed map of the Ascent is also the most complete at the moment as it continued to be updated until the final days before its release.
