Modern and Contemporary History of C High School

Are the lives of our parents and grandparents, when compared to our own, more similar or different? Was everything we see around us always like this or was it different? After all, how did the world we live in today come to be? This book was written with the intention and hope of raising such questions and challenging you to investigate them. The time period to which it refers is the two hundred years, or so, from the French revolution of 1789 to our time. The last century, i.e. the years from the end of the 19th century until today, constitutes what we call the modern era. During the period we are going to examine many events affected, to a greater or lesser degree, the lives of the people. The book presents the main ones and deals, much more thoroughly, with the history of the Greeks, connecting it with the historical development of other peoples, especially the neighboring ones, the Balkans and Europe. Emphasis was not placed on information entry. The effort was focused on presenting a general picture of the 19th and 20th centuries, and above all on highlighting the most important problems that occupied each era, as well as the legacy that this era left for posterity.
