The materials in this course not only follow the instructions of the Pedagogical Institute with respect to the fundamental concepts and the cross-curricular approach, but are also written with a view to furthering students' existing language awareness to a more advanced level of competence which roughly corresponds to B1 Level of the Council of Europe Framework within a year study. Considering the limited classroom time according to the analytical schedule (2 hours of tuition per week), a holistic didactic approach has been adopted -rather than insisting on isolated language patterns- so as to enable students to develop AUTHENTIC language comprehension skills to the greatest extent , while at the same time fostering thorough development of production skills.
