In the course of Geology - Geography in the first grade (Geography of Continents) the material is developed in three major teaching units which are:

• The maps. This section seeks to develop the skills of locating places on the Earth's surface with the help of coordinates (geographical location) and utilizing maps in the study of specific geographical problems.
• The natural habitat. This section has as its object the study of the natural environment of the Earth and includes the knowledge of Geology necessary for the geographical study.
• The activities of people. This section connects the natural environment with human activities.

The most appropriate topics for the age of the students of the first two grades of the Gymnasium were the summary examination of certain population phenomena (numerical population evolution, population density, geographical distribution, composition by ages), the examination of the available resources (combination of natural and human resources). urban environment (creation of cities, structure, functions, problems).
