The book consists of twelve chapters. Chapters 1 to 6 analyze the structure and basic functions of genetic material at the molecular level, as well as the damage that creates problems in its function and leads to disease. The methodology of recombinant DNA is also being developed, which was the prerequisite for the development of Biotechnology. Chapters 7 to 11 present the basic principles of Biotechnology, as well as its applications in Medicine, agriculture and animal husbandry, industry and environmental protection. In the last chapter, concerns are formulated concerning the applications of Biotechnology and the use of technologies in general.
