With a very simple style, an attempt is made to give the fundamental principles of Chemistry and through examples of everyday life, so that they become more understandable and in addition help the reader-student to develop a critical view of what is happening around and within him. – The first chapter presents the properties of oil and hydrocarbons – The second chapter describes alcohols and phenols as well as their applications in everyday life. – The third chapter describes carboxylic acids and their categories according to their chemical properties. – Finally, in the chapter "Biomolecules and other molecules" carbohydrates, fats, oils and proteins are approached, and emphasis is placed on soaps and their detergent action as well as the role of proteins.
