Principles of Philosophy B Lyceum

What is philosophy? Sometimes, when we are not absorbed in our daily activities and find time to calmly observe the things around us and within us and reflect on their significance, we realize that we should be seriously concerned with the very fact that we exist and we are in the world. In such a case what we usually take for granted, about ourselves, other people and things, that we were born and raised, that the sun rises and sets every day, that words have meaning, suddenly challenge us surprise and admiration (wonder). This admiration shows that we have adopted a philosophical attitude. Then strange questions are born to us, reminiscent of those that children sometimes formulate: Who am I really? Where do I come from and where am I going? Why does the world exist? Who created him? What is space and what is time? What happens when people die? What is good and what is bad? Are we free when we take certain actions, or are we determined by deeper forces beyond our control? What makes nice things nice?
