Description

Biology A Lyceum

In this book an attempt is made to present and explain in a simple way the functions of the most complex organism on our planet. The book consists of twelve chapters, of which the first refers to already known concepts (tissue, organ, organ system). Each organ system is then presented separately. First, the systems related to the intake of food, the absorption of its components (digestive system) and their transport, with the circulatory and lymphatic systems, to all tissues are presented. Then there is a description of the respiratory system, through which oxygen is taken in, which is necessary for energy production. Next are the systems related to the support and movement of the body (muscular and muscular systems). The nervous system & endocrine glands chapters describe the systems responsible for coordinating all body functions. Interspersed among these is the sensory organ system, which is, quite literally, the organism's window to the world. The material of this book is completed with the reproductive system, which is necessary for the perpetuation of the species. The aim of this book is not only to provide information, but also to raise students' awareness of issues concerning their bodies. The knowledge provided is expected to contribute to the acquisition of positive attitudes such as avoiding smoking, alcohol, adopting a healthy diet and exercise, and will contribute to the proper functioning of their body.
